TRADITIONAL INSTRUCTION
DRAWING PAINTING SCULPTURE
Drawing
Workshop:
Structured to present more challenging assignments based on the techniques
and methods learned in Drawing I. Attention to the further development
of pencil technique and a better understanding of creating compositions.
Subject matter includes landscape study, perspective, human figure and
human head (a must for students learning the art of portraiture). Students
also develop independent drawings based on the subject matter of their
choice. Instructor: Marc-Anthony Massaro, 8 Tuesdays begins June 10th,
6:30 – 9:30pm; $170 plus materials
Oil Painting Workshop: Two time slots available. Students
should have intermediate to advanced
skill level in oil painting. The instructor gives individual attention
to each student to aid in the development of technique, composition, and
color theory. Students develop in-class projects as well as independent
projects based on subject matter of their choice. This course is for students
who wish to advance to a higher skill level in the oil painting medium.
Instructor: Marc-Anthony Massaro, 8 Wednesdays begins June 11th, either
12:30 – 3:30pm class or 6:30 – 9:30pm class; $170 plus materials
Open Studio – Drawing/Painting: For advanced students
only. This is a workshop atmosphere for students to work in the medium
of their choice – drawing, painting, pastels, etc. Instructor works
with each student through critique and demonstration. Students develop
independent projects with instructor’s approval. Instructor: Marc-Anthony
Massaro, 8 Thursdays begins June 12th, 12:30 – 3:30pm; $170 plus
materials
Open
Studio – Drawing, Painting & Sculpture: For intermediate
and advanced students. This is a workshop atmosphere for students to work
in the medium of their choice – drawing, painting, pastels with
the inclusion of intermediate and advanced sculpture students. Due to
the workspace constrictions, this class is limited to 10 students. Sculpture
students should call to inquire about the types of materials permitted.

Watercolor – An Introduction: This is a beginner’s
course. Discover the fun of the watercolor medium. Learn to select paper,
paint and brushes. Through guidance and demonstration, students learn
the basics of watercolor technique, color mixing, color theory, and knowledge
of sound composition. Students develop simple compositions in still life,
floral, landscape, seascape, and other related subjects. The course is
designed to simplify the process of watercolor to prepare students to
produce artwork on their own. Basic drawing skills are required to participate
in this course. Instructor: Jody Lynn, 8 Mondays begins June 11th, 7:00
– 9pm; $170 plus materials
Decorative Painting & Faux Finishes: Designed for
beginning and continuing students, and
interior decorators and professional painters who want to expand their
portfolio. Students experiment with a variety of techniques: glazing,
washes, sponging, ragging, strie, frottage, faux wood, faux marble, faux
stone and clouds. Instructor: Marc J. Potocsky, 6 Thursdays begins May
29th, 6:30 – 9:00pm $225; plus materials
Weekend Workshops & Classes
Classic
Mural Painting: This course will cover light and shadow, forced
perspective and painting and glazing techniques. Students will learn effective
techniques to complete a large four-foot by six-foot wall mural consisting
of a Trompe l’Oeil stone wall and window with a view of a beautiful
mountain-sky landscape setting. Instructor: Marc J. Potocsky, 3-day class.
Friday, May 16th 6:00 – 9:30pm, Saturday, May 17th 9:00am –
4:00pm and Sunday, May 18th Noon – 4:00pm; $275 plus materials
Trompe l’Oeil and Stencil: Trompe l’Oeil
– to fool the eye. This class will cover elements of light and shadow;
fake moldings, rosette medallion, decorative ornament, vines and leaves
as well as making your own stencils. Instructor: Marc J. Potocsky, 3-day
class. Friday, July 11th 6:00 – 9:00pm, Saturday, July 12th 9:00am
– 4:00pm and Sunday, July 13th, Noon – 4:00pm $225; plus materials
Advanced
Faux Marble and Wood Graining: Designed for the continuing and
advanced student
who has basic experience and knowledge of faux finishing techniques and
is interested in learning and developing the art of more complex graining
and marbling. The student will render a variety of exotic finishes: Birds-Eye
Maple, Heart Grain and Quarter Sawn English Oak or Mahogany, Yellow sienna,
Sea Green Ver de Mer Marble or Tortoise Shell. Instructor: Marc J Potocsky,
3-day class. Friday July 25th 6:00 – 9:00pm, Saturday, July 26th
9:00am – 4:00pm, Sunday, July 27th Noon – 4:00pm; $225 plus
materials
On
Location Landscape Painting: For intermediate and advanced students.

Outdoor
Watercolor Workshop: For intermediate students. Instructor works
with students to develop composition and color interpretation from life
at designated location. Portable or French style easel, folding chair,
and umbrella required. Students must provide their own transportation

21st & 22nd; or Aug. 2nd & 3rd; $50 plus materials
Painting
Beautiful Flowers: Learn how to bring flowers to life in your
favorite painting medium. The instructor will discuss design and color,
work from photo and still life. Bring own ideas to create unique painting
style of your own. Must have a basic knowledge of medium you will be working
in: paint on wood, canvas, paper, etc. Fresh flowers, plants and photos
provided as reference. Instructor: Jody Lynn, 2-day class. Saturday &
Sunday, 1:00 – 4:00pm, June 7th & 8th; or July 19th & 20th;
$50 plus materials
Fun
with Floral Design: Experience the joy of working with fresh
cut flowers. Learn to design your own unique arrangements using fresh
flowers. This is a skill you will use again and again throughout your
life. Silk and dries will also be discussed in class. In your favorite
container create something beautiful to bring home. Sharp scissors, wire
cutters, and knife are required. Instructor: Jody Lynn, 2-day class. Saturday
& Sunday, 1:30 – 3:00pm, May 10th & 11th or June 28th &
29th; $25 plus $25 materials fee
